Those are some good ones this week. I just got into an argument with my niece the other day about Apple. She was assuming the market share of Apple was larger than Android because all her friends have Apple phones. It turns out we were both right. In the US Apple does have the edge, but worldwide Android has about 70% of the market share. I don't really care either way. I prefer my Android devices, but I own Apple stock, so if people want to buy every new device that comes out, they should go for it! My wife and I just did a fair bit of traveling and we were subject to the weird hotel breakfast rules!
I heard a podcast recently that makes your niece very correct. it was something like 70% of all people under 21 in USA use Apple, so this basically ensures that they will dominate the market there for a long time to come. I can speak with experience from being overseas that almost everyone does NOT have iPhone but much of this has to do with the fact that we don't have any of those "free phone" deals that come along with an overpriced monthly plan. If you want an iPhone, you have to buy it outright and there aren't many Vietnamese people that can afford a $1500 phone. The ones that can afford it probably have money because they wouldn't spend that much on a phone, which I think is wise.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Like I said, as long as my stock keeps going up, I don't really mind :)
