I was encouraged by one of the whales who had gotten on the site very early and by my man who works with said whale IRL. It took me a while and some research to figure out how steemit works. I was basically seeing that some people who had a lot of reputation and finances and who logically would merit a lot of followers and upvotes were getting very little attention while other minnows were rapidly rising (quickly surpassing me) despite having no real stake to vote with. I started doing some serious research and realized that the minnows were putting in a lot of work, not necessarily posting every day but posting every 2nd or 3rd day with generally quality posts with a standard theme and they were doing a lot of socializing and joining clubs. I havent joined clubs but my readership has increased as I have started putting in the socializing work and I'm getting people who have become interested by the comments I've made on other people's posts. I'm not particularly fast so it takes me forever to do a decent job of it but I try to get around to some of my favorites every few days while still finding new people who are within my general interest range. I really should do more posting and look into the clubs.
