Memo #1 — Hive

Sitting here at a coffee shop in the mountains hoping for equally as high gains in crypto.

Market has been down the past two months so the boredom has set in. Even the price predictions of 40,000 to 100,000 this year seem so far away as bitcoin plummets to the ever abandoned darkness of trading sideways.

But we keep our spirits high and try to persevere. We throw memes at each other and read the news articles and develop new implentations for bitcoin and other cryptos. In these times of red it is important to pour over the real reasons why this technology is important.

Maybe you won’t get rich but wouldn’t it be nice if at least your money was yours and not being lent out? That’s why I hodl.

Maybe you won’t get a Lambo but wouldn’t it be nice if your money didn’t decrease in value everyday? That’s why I hodl.

Maybe you won’t get a house but wouldn’t it be nice to have privacy in cheap transactions to anyone across the world on a broadcast decentralized network? That’s why I hodl.

The technology is why we do this. To get away from a broken finance system. Once you start to dig deep you’ll understand it’s all bunked.

Ever try to figure out who really owns a stock? Lol nearly impossible, you are given “shares” that no one knows for sure who owns them because of a huge back logged system it runs on. I’m mobile other wise I’d link the video but there is a great conversation between two very intelligent individuals where they talk about crypto and it’s increasingly important role in the broken system of stock trading and finance.

Maybe if the current system works for you then you may not want it to change, but don’t be selfish and consider the worldwide implications of possibly bringing millions of people together via decentralized currencies and open source technology. A layer on top of the internet that allows for financial freedom for all.

So hodl, invest, and reinvest, trade and read and use it all because the wave of chainge is coming ;)
