EVIL
Evil was a Doberman Pinscher and my son's best friend. She was with him for six of his ten years of life.
She was his best friend and the best dog he ever owned.
She passed away today from unknown causes. She was buried under Evan's clubhouse at the farm.
She will always be remembered for being Evan's protector, from real world threats, as well as from his night mares he suffers...as sleeping with her prevented them somehow.
She was always ready to chase Evan on the four wheeler and loved to spend her days with him...truly a best friend, as that is all she needed to be happy.
She spent every day of her life that she possibly could hanging out with her boy that she loved so much. Always there for him through his toughest times.
We love you Evil, we always have and we always will. You will forever hold a special place in all our hearts...and an even more special place in Evan's. Thank you for all the years of fun and mischief you provided. And thank you for being there for my son every time he needed a friend to love him. We will see you again soon.

So sorry for not noticing the sad day of yours my friend. I feel sorry for your loss but life flows like that. It's unavoidable but it will not be forgotten. I hope your son is doing fine and you always. Take care always and God bless your family.

Hey @johndoer123 I just dropped in to see your progress on the homestead and noticed this post. Being an avid dog lover that has faced this sort of thing and having many dog lover friends (and family) that have faced such a thing as well... my heart goes out to you all. With that in mind I want to convey to you what I tell myself and my friends and please receive it with the kindness that it is intended to be.
When we take a dog into our life we are signing up to give it the best life that we can knowing that we will most likely outlive it. If that was achieved then you did well and should rest easy knowing that the dog had a good life.

My dear friend, I'm sorry about the delay in the response. But thank you so much for your kind words as they mean so much to me, my son and our family. I told my son not long before she passed, as we knew it was coming, that a dog will give us the best Days of our lives.. and the one, single worst day of our life. He didn't fully get it at the time but he does now. And he also now understands the grieving process associated with losing somebody that you love so much. It was a wonderful and beautiful learning experience for him as sad as it was. I say all of this knowing that you, of all people will understand. I wish you the best my dearest brother.

Me and the dogs are doing well and just doing the best that we can as always. A lot of work per usual but I enjoy it.
