Wow. This whole #metoo thing has caused some ripples of outrage in the men's community. As a person of color, I have had my share of oppression. However, I've not ever had the experience that all women have had. And I have to say ALL.
I think that all women have experienced some form of harrassment or abuse at the hands of our gender.
Yes, they have been abused by many from their own gender too. But that's not for me to post about, because I have no first hand experience of that.
I made a post a few days ago giving the suggestion that young boys and young men in our current North American society could stand to learn clear boundaries better. I strongly believe that boys and young men are not and have not been taught clear boundaries, especially when it comes to women. If you want to read up more on that blog post you can find it here:

My next suggestion in how men can behave more like men is to teach men to take accountability for the results of their actions and decisions. This too seems to have gone out the window, and it seems that the only time when someone of influence has stood up and been accountable for some wrong they perpetrated is after they've been outed and shamed on social media.
Our society has built itself on only wanting to be praised for the good deeds and accomplishments, and sweep all the misdeeds and failures under the rug as quickly as possible. This creates a society based on image alone, which we all know all too well that eventually when the image crumbles the mess that's left is generally not a pretty sight to see.
However, when not in the halls of power (be they financial, political or otherwise), my experience of people that behave accountably is they are looked at with a high degree of respect, earned from living a life behaving with integrity. I think too that it would behoove our current social leaders, again politically or financially, to be the example of that.
This in my opinion would require a huge socio economic change, in that most times the people we've been led to look up to weigh their image success generating wealth, ill-gotten or otherwise. In that small minded way of thinking, they perceive that any weakness or crack in the armor would cost them profits, and hence would move heaven and earth to ensure their exterior image is intact.
Again, I don't have all the answers to enact these changes, I just have imaginative suggestions to stir conversation. Thanks for making it this far in the post!
