Dear Daniel Craig,
I am so excited. Team AOF is amazing. I may have mentioned I was writing a stage adaptation of Letters to Daniel. The first person I approached about this project was Missy as always she was supportive but (to my tastes) overly cautious, lol. One of us has to be right? My head is in the clouds and she always anchors me.
The second person I went to was Queen of AOF for Life Anabelle Munro. A dynamo actress, producer, writer and director. I asked her was how do I get to Broadway with it. She suggested a one night Off-Broadway performance, we tape it and we put it on Amazon Prime Video. Then get the actual play in Theater shops. She requested Lureen Wu be added to the team. Considering we’re all working on Recovery Unplugged
I was steam rolling through the pages and at 21 pages my computer dies takes everything with it. So I was forced back to square one.
The next AOFer I approached was the MAN himself, Del Weston about making this one night on Off-Broadway a double bill with a play of his. Turns out he had produced a comedian’s tribute to Prince in LA in the Stella Adler Theater. He says yes, and hear me and Missy are in the midst our most ambitious project yet.
I started the play over from scratch and got a much powerful opening as I went into the details of my diagnosis. The scene for the actual diagnosis is slated for today.
Then, per Anabelle’s suggestion I went to another AOF Megafest director about assistance with Grant writing and they agreed to align their non-profit with our theater production!
The core cast hailing from Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and California is all agreed to the production. Step by step, day by day we’re getting their.
So even though Conquering Disabilities has been postponed my creative life goes on. AOF changes lives. It can change yours. They’re now accepting submissions for next year.
Happy scribbles,
Amy McCorkle
