American Fascism, in 1944 and Today
By HENRY SCOTT WALLACE May 12, 2017

Seventy-three years ago, The New York Times asked the sitting vice president to write an article about whether there are fascists in America.
That vice president was my undo bolded grandfather, Henry A. Wallace. And in my view, he predicted President Trump.
My grandfather warned about hucksters spouting populist themes but manipulating people and institutions to achieve the opposite. They pretend to be on the side of ordinary working people — “paying lip service to democracy and the common welfare,” he wrote. But at the same time, they “distrust democracy because it stands for equal opportunity.”
They invariably put “money and power ahead of human beings,” he continued. “They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest.” They also “claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution.”
They bloviate about putting America first, but it’s just a cover. “They use isolationism as a slogan to conceal their selfish imperialism.”
They need scapegoats and harbor “an intensity of intolerance toward those of other races, parties, classes, religions, cultures, regions or nations.”

DIVERSITY DOESN’T JUST SOUND NICE, IT HAS TANGIBLE VALUE
Are we Headed in the Wrong Direction?
Taking an Honest evaluation of the recent elections in the United States and Europe should require a reassessment of the direction that appears charted concerning immigration and race related issues. Although there is a movement of nationalist who are gathering in larger numbers to limit immigration, studies show that immigration is not only a good idea, but it is necessary to the continued growth and productivity of our nation. We are a nation of immigrants and so are other nations and to think that just because changes are occurring in some classes of people in these nations did not mean that they can solve their problems by limiting immigration.
I will be alluding to some of these opinions and studies to support these facts. I will also be alluding to studies and opinions with good advice on the correct direction we should be taking.

WHAT BIRACIAL PEOPLE KNOW https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/04/opinion/sunday/what-biracial-people-know.html?ref=opinion&_r=0

What President Trump doesn’t seem to have considered is that diversity doesn’t just sound nice, it has tangible value. Social scientists find that homogeneous groups like his cabinet can be less creative and insightful than diverse ones. They are more prone to groupthink and less likely to question faulty assumptions.
What’s true of groups is also true for individuals. A small but growing body of research suggests that multiracial people are more open-minded and creative. Here, it’s worth remembering that Barack Obama, son of a Kenyan father and a white Kansan mother, wasn’t only the nation’s first black president, he was also its first biracial president. His multitudinous self-was, I like to think, part of what made him great — part of what inspired him when he proclaimed that there wasn’t a red or blue America, but the United States of America. There is nothing 'great' about Barry Soetoro or Barack Obama. He was a vile and evil human being that did a lot of intended damage to the United States and to freedom in general. It's not because he was black. It wouldn't have matter if he was white, brown, red or yellow. It had nothing to do with race, although Barry made it about race - and everything else. He divided America based on every interest group he could find and left a mess no one could fix. "United we stand, divided we fall" - Old Barry knew that and made sure he left America divided. That's his only legacy.
