Meteor timelapse

in #meteor7 years ago (edited)

A collection of time-lapse shots that span about 7 years capturing meteor showers. The footage was shot during the Perseid, Geminid and Leonid Meteor showers.

Meteors only show up for single frames, anything that goes across the sky is a plane or a satellite.

I also uploaded an extended edit

I slowed down the footage so the instantanious meteors were a little more visible.

Around 1 minute when you started doing the slightly elongated trails was pretty spectacular. I'm not sure i had personally seen that before in a timelapse video.

thanks! it took me so long to figure that out. its the echo filter in after effects. it echos the previous frame for a specified number of frames then falls off. as long as the ground stays constant (no timelapse rails or moco heads)
