As I stated in my Introduction post I am from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh which is famous as “Devbhoomi” or Land of gods. Shimla has got many of religious spots and most of them date back to the ancient time. In this blog I would like to introduce one of the famous and ancient religious place of Shimla “Hatkoti Temple”.

Hatkoti Temple is a famous Hindu temple. The Hatkoti temple is addressed in the mysteries valley of Hatkoti.It is situated in the bank of Pabbar River. The temple is made with stone and quite different than any other temples of this region. It is believed that Shri Adi Shankaracharya had established this temple. According to some others, the temple is built during 3rd Century.

How to reach Hatkoti Temple:

If you decided to explore Shimla then you have to visit Hatkoti temple without this your tour is worth less. To reach Hatkoti Temple visitor can take Shimla – Rohru (NH-22) route that passes through Theog, kotkhai and kharapathar. Large number of Public and private vehicle run on this road.

Timing of Hatkoti Temple:

The temple remains open from 6 am to 10 pm at night.
