It’s no secret that one of the most exhausting aspects of running an ecommerce store is marketing. With so many questions being asked about how to drive traffic to stores for free, I figured we could all share our lessons and experiences.
Here’s a roundup of the best practices I’ve learned from ecommerce store owners so far:
Writing blog content
I know several successful entrepreneurs who organically drive traffic to their online stores by producing high quality blog content. It requires patience, commitment and a few months of consistent effort to see the results, but I think it’s something worth trying for the long run. The best part - it’s free.
Including a CTA in social media posts
Every time I see an ecommerce store’s post on social media, I’m instantly looking for a direct link to their product page. I find the CTA essential and it must be there with every single post (even if the post has nothing to do with your products).
By the way, here’s a good read on how to write effective CTAs by Hootsuite: https://blog.hootsuite.com/how-to-write-effective-ctas/.
Sending free samples to bloggers and influencers
Bloggers and influencers have large audiences that may be interested in buying your product. Lots of dropshippers I know send them free samples so they can share their product with their followers and the sales start kicking in. The effort definitely pays off!
Email marketing
Email is free. It’s a good marketing tool too. Successful store owners keep sending out weekly newsletters that highlight their products with quality images and relevant content that links directly to each product for easy purchasing. Do you use any of these tactics?
