Steemit keys are literally the keys to your account. They control all of the access and dictate what you can do on Steemit. You have several different types of keys that all have different permissions. This is why keys are also called permissions.
Keys are very important for you to understand. If you use the wrong key or give out the wrong keys then you could lose access to your Steemit account. Therefore, take the time to learn what you can about the keys and understand what they do.
There are 2 different kind of keys
- Public Keys
2.Private Keys
In the category of public keys there are two different keys
- Posting keys:
Keys that are used only for posting blogs and commenting
and replying on others post.
2.Memo Keys:
Used to read and and create memos. This is kind of useless.
In the category of private keys there are two different keys
1.Active keys:
This key look upon your transactions. Don't share this. Otherwise you will end up loosing all your earnings
2.Owner Keys:
Also called master keys. This is the most important key. This have the capability to reset password. If you loose it you will loose all your control on your account. Anyone can reset your account with that keys.And you can't get it back.
