Two satellites PRSS-1 and PakTES-1A were launched this morning, on Chinese rocket Long March-2C from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.The PRSS-1 is China's first optical remote sensing satellite sold to Pakistan and PRSS-1 satellite can carry out day and night monitoring, and it has viewing capacity even in clouded conditions.it is the 17th satellite developed by the China Academy of Space Technology for an overseas buyer.The satellite is equipped with two multispectral cameras with coverage range of 60 KM, and will be used for monitoring batural disaster,land and resources surveying,agriculture research,urban constructionand to provide remote sensing information for China's "Belt and Road" mega-project.
Pakistan, which already had five satellites in space, lacks heavy duty launchers and satellite fabrication facilities.India also has the radar imaging satellites with all-weather surveillance capability,india is ahead of pakistan in space tehnology with 43 operational satellite in space.
The satellite launch today is the 279th mission for the long march rocket series,also the first international commercial launch for a Long March-2C rocket in nearly two decades.
The satellites will play a positive role in the development of Pakistan's economy and improve the lives of people.
