not everyone thinks like you, but with your growing influence, surely they (us) will get some ideas to emulate.

Is it becoming easier the more you advance with steemit :) ?

The real mystery in Steemit lies with becoming a person who thinks of giving more than receiving. This is the fundamentals of the Gift Economy, which the Western world knows very little about. Study how the gift economy and tribal culture works (the most powerful chiefs in tribes are the ones who give the most), and you'll be on your way.

Yeah, and whats amazing is just how easy that is to do here!!! Click, fed your family a week! That's amazing!!!!!!

I believe the shift can only happen once one's needs are met. While someone is barely able to eat, his/her mind can only be focused on the self. So, this process of transforming is gradual. I think back to 2016, when I was working as a writer and barely able to pay my bills. I didn't have the luxury of thinking about others because my own survival was at stake. Most of the world is barely able to eat. So, it's not likely that this transformation will be very fast. What I think is the main issue is this: people in Western (rich) countries suffer because they have no purpose (so they think they need more wealth, more "things" to fill in their vacant heart, while most people in underdeveloped countries struggle with things like electricity, having enough to eat, having access to internet. There is a huge gap here, and a lot of work that needs to be done........in both worlds. In the West, I see the need to wean people off Facebook, the media, and the materialism. Plus, I see a need to educate people about what the Gift Economy actually means. We have all been brainwashed with materialism, and commodity culture, to such a degree that people don't even understand what the Gift Economy is. Steemit, subsconsciously, embodies the Gift Economy and tribal culture, even though it's not advertised that way. It's a shift in consciousness that is defintely not well understood. It's like the real getting unplugged from The Matrix. The more I think about this, the more it's almost a miracle in programming.....sometimes I too cannot believe we have been given this gift.

Namaste. It's an honor to call you friend. I couldn't agree more and try to spend my time and effort embodying those sentiments.

@stellabelle i can see you wrote this with passion and concern for the less privilege as though you have experienced what most people are experiencing in poor African and Asia nations. I have seen most of your supports both directly and indirectly on projects that propose to empower the less advantage in our world.

I love to be on steemit all day (of course why not) but i can't just fulfill this desire due to epileptic power supply in my country Nigeria. Having access to power less than 8 hours a day and some day full darkness.

And of course there are alternative power supply like using an electricity generator but this type of power generation needs fuel to function and that's another huge bill to pay after paying out the normal electricity bill to government and power generation companies.

How can you imagine poor people paying for power they didn't use? Well it happens a lot here and so many other similar things.

But i am confidence that with the Gift Economy and change in mentality generally going on within social media and internet Eco-system, steemit and other gift economy platform could contribute well to eradicating poverty in developing nations of the earth.

And we, as early adopters of this great platform can begin the project in our little way like most people are already doing to help kick start this revolutionary movement.

The world deserve to become a more better place

Solar chargers for smartphones are part of the answer. Using the energy that the sun gives for free is part of the solution. Do you have one of these solar chargers?
And yes, I was poor, dirt poor only a few years ago. I never forgot what that was like. And even though my parents and brother (who was wealthy), was my family, I was too ashamed of my situation to ask for help. So that poverty put a mark on my brain, a scar, that still affects me.

So this is the solar charger that @ackza showed me: https://www.ebay.com/i/111952495906

Would this charger work with your smartphone (assuming you have one)?
