Let me introduce my Son In Law Greg.
My daughter met him in middle school. He was the cool kid who could walk on his hands and flip at the skating rink. He was young and healthy, so full of life.
In his senior year he signed up for the Marines. This was his dream. His future. His way to provide for his future family with my daughter.
They were married and had their first child.
He had only been in boot camp and few weeks when we got the call that would change all our lives forever. The Sargent who was training him decided he was not downing his push ups fast enough and put his foot through his shoulder plate, Literally!
They did what they could but he was left disabled for life!
He received a small settlement and a medical discharge.
He came home angry, discouraged and unable to due so many tasks.
As their family grew, Greg tried many jobs. But most were low paying and manual and ending in "we are sorry, we like you but...."
The Va is trying to help them. They have been homeless, without electric or water on more occasions they I can count. We try to help, but cannot support another family forever who can?
They now have a family of six kids. Greg is falling apart. His teeth have fallen out due to medications he needs to more without pain.
Their marriage is struggling as we know how money troubles can take a toll.
Please pray for my family. Is this how our sons and daughters should be treated trying to serve our country?
who serves who? >:|
