Maldivian controversial President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom has taken a new tactic to support for his administration in the ongoing crisis. He is sending an envoy to 'friends' countries except India.
Indian media reported that President Yamin decided to send an envoy to remove the misconceptions of neighboring and friendly countries for his administration. The envoys will inform them of the 'latest situation of the leaders of friendly countries'.
But despite being the SAARC country and the largest and most powerful country in the SAARC, President Yamin Gayoom is not sending any envoy to India. He obviously took the anti-India position. On the other hand, he developed a strong relation with Asia's largest military and economic superpower China. Along with this, Saudi Arabia has supported the most influential state of the Muslim world.
President Yamin has apparently won. This is because of the indirect support and patronage of China and Saudi Arabia. With the Chinese support, he has shown a willingness to pass in regional power like India.
He also speaks of "friendly nations", which means that China, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan,
"Outside any military intervention will make the situation more complicated", said President Abdullah Yamin Gayayam, who appeared in the state television on Nov. 13 hours after the announcement of China's intention to send India to India, announced the plan to send "Friends Country Envoy".
After being exiled in Sri Lanka, former President Mohamed Nasheed sought military assistance to India, India apparently took an indirect stand against President Yamin. China takes advantage of this opportunity
