RE: SAVE YOUR PASSWORD 10 TIMES: A recap of my timeline back to Steemit

in #mindset6 years ago (edited)

Hey there theroachmedia, welcome back to steem. :) Bummer to hear you lost your old account! I've had a few friends who lost their passwords also and usually they just give up when they do so good for you for giving it another try! I'd suggest backing up your password in at least two separate places off of your computer, like print it out or write it down and put them somewhere safe for storage just in case.

I really like what you wrote and how honest you were and especially your sentiments about how it's worth it if you enjoy what you do and even if you have a small audience. I think that's a great and healthy mindset to have!

If I could give you a few tips it would be to.. Find some communities or contests to be a part of, they can make your experience on here a lot more rewarding and enjoyable in my opinion. I would suggest @steemitbloggers as a good one and one that I'm a part of is the @ifc which is more of a contest but it's also a community as well of people who enjoy helping each other and competing in a friendly game.

After that I would suggest to socialize with others, visit other peoples pages and leave comments and try to make friends.. It might be useful to use the #introduceyourself tag to find and meet other new people as well. :)

And then finally just try to put out good content that people appreciate and grow your audience over time. It might be kind of quiet at first since you're just starting out and the crypto market has been kind of slow in general due to the lower values lately, though I think if you keep at it.. You might have some great results in time.

Anyways.. Good luck on here and if you have any questions please feel free to ask! I'll do my best to help and if I can't help.. I can probably/hopefully find someone who can.

Thank you for taking the time to share some guidance -- I really appreciate every tip and pointer I get!

I guess I just really liked the possibilities of Steemit, and I just like to write and take photos so when I was introduced to it, it always stuck with me -- even after I lost my password for months.

Don't worry -- my password is backed up in a few safe hardcopy spots and saved in 2 devices. I don't plan on losing it ever again lol.

Thanks again for the kind words, another reason I like Steemit is honesty -- there are so many genuine people who write with passion. It's actually a great motivator for me!

I'm definitely going to follow your advice and join the communities you reccommended -- feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to repay the favor!

You're welcome. And yeah I can relate! I had posted on Facebook for quite a few years before steemit and when I discovered it was almost impossible to be censored here and I could earn crypto currency I fell in love! Lol.. I just wish more people could see what I see as so many seem so content to stay on places like Facebook which are quite inferior in my opinion.

Glad to hear you got your password backed up good this time!
You're welcome again for the kind words and I agree, the people on steem tend to be of much higher quality from my experience compared to other social media. I've only dealt with a few people I didn't get along well with, for the most part people here have been pretty awesome.

Glad to hear you'll check out those communities! And okay, good to know. I don't really expect anything in return.. But I do hope we see you around the @ifc at some point in the future as I think it's a great community of helpful and supportive people and you I think you'd fit in well and you might like it! Though as I mentioned, I'm not looking for anything in return. I'm just happy to help in the ways I can. Peace and all the best to you!
