Hey Steemit Friends!

Today I want to give you a couple of tools that can start and shift your day towards your goals and get you focused and ready especially for your character building days. For those of you who are trading or investing currently with the "crash" we are in right now, the tools below are mandatory if you want to keep your sanity :D

In 2012 my business was burning in fire and I was desperately trying to sell it with enormous losses. My mental state was horrible. I was a mess. For close to 4 years the company I was send to "rescue"was loosing month after month. I could't sleep, food was tasteless, my wife was suffering due to my constant bad mood and pretty much nothing was going my way. I needed a change and the evening glass of whiskey was definitely not the right answer.

I did some research and ended up with Tony Robbins. I assume there is no human being on earth that doesn't know who he is, so I won't explain it here. Bought his books and programs and after a few months I hired a life coach from his foundation. Now I won't lie, it was not an over night transformation, nor am I completely transformed even nowadays. However I quickly realized that if you want to have a true mental toughness in anything you do, you must learn how to feed your brain constantly, how to train it and get it ready for whatever comes. So since 2012 I have been constantly striving to improve my mental game through books, programs, videos, apps etc. I have tried many different techniques and I want to share 3 of them below that have truly impacted my mind. I am going to write them in the order and time frame I used them. For some one will work better than the other. I would advice you to try them all out and see what fits you best.

  • THE HOUR OF POWER

This was the first morning routine I started with. It was from Tony Robbin's audio program Ultimate Edge if I remember correctly. You can listen to the link above and get a detailed understanding of exactly how to apply it. I have been practicing the hour of power for a couple of years 2012 - 2015 and it was amazing. I didn't really practice the 2nd part where I need to do sport, which was a big mistake, but the mental part was a blast and it helped me tremendously in those tough days. At that time we were living in Vienna and I will always remember walking the dogs at 7am screaming my incantations on the street :D

  • MEDITATION

Around 2014 - 2015 meditating became kind of mainstream popular and of course I got into it as well. Have tried some apps for guidance, however the only 2 I have gotten the paid version were Calm and Headspace. Of the 2 I definitely prefer Headspace. Both are very good, Calm is with woman's voice and Headspace with a man's voice if that is of any importance for you. You can try them both for free.

https://www.calm.com/

The owner and the voice of Headspace is Andy Puddicombre, who is actually a former budhist and a monk. For further information you can check his TED Talk here

The app is very well organised with different modules of improvement, like health, happiness, work etc. I have done meditation for over a year and I just couldn't really connect with it. Now to be honest I wasn't 100% consistent, nor I was 100% determined to master the art of meditating. So try it out if you like and see how it works for you.

  • PRIMED MIND

The last one, which I am currently using is an app developed by Fedor Holz and Elliot Roe. Fedor is considered by many one of the greatest tournament poker players in the world. I have had the pleasure to play with him a couple of times and I got to say, the dude is pretty intimidating on the poker tables. Elliot was his mindset coach during his poker career and together they developed the Primed Mind app which imo is outstanding. The voice of the app is Elliot himself. His mindset sessions are based on Hypnotherapy and are focused on getting to the root of your mindset issues and work to resolve them. The app is very well organised and have different categories of improvement. You can also approach it through different fields, for example if you are a trader you can train your confidence specifically for trading. I am currently in love with Primed mind and although guilty of not using it the past couple of weeks, this article is like a wake up call for me as well to stop procrastinating and get back to my old routine :)

So this is it. Test them and let me know what you think. I am not affiliated in anyway with the things above and this was my opinion based on my own experience.

Adios
