Here are a few words and thoughts as to why I think this is very subjective based on circumstance of the individual.
I, personally do a lot of dream analysis and interpretation to allow myself to reflect and improve my waking hours... I see this as an essential life skill and I wouldn't be interested in cutting down this time (at least right now).
I also see people throughout history; Edgar Cayce for instance, who used sleep/dream to diagnose his patients; As well as Nikola Tesla, who used a form of sleeping with visualization to help him see his inventions before he created them.
Again, I understand the premise of this piece but not everything will work for everyone
