Trading and Investing with the right Mindset - The Road for Success

in #mindset8 years ago (edited)

So the new gold rush of the 21st century is here and we are all putting our time energy and resources in it. Both mental and financial. But do we have the right mindset to be on top, to stay in the game not just for a few weeks or months but for years and years to come by continuing to grow and learn from our mistakes. We have all seen the Wall street movies where brokers, managers and CEOs scream out loud full of rage because of a failed deal or a big market crash. They use drugs and they are killing their bodies by physical and mental self-torture. And this should not happen to you. The amount of money you will lose and win doesn't matter but some people are more prone to overreact or depress if thing are not going their way. My biggest advice I can give you is not where to invest, when to trade or which upcoming ICO to look for. My advice is take a look at yourself. Start practicing mindfulness. Take time each and everyday to stop what you are doing and just for 5-10 minutes to give your body and brain the peace it needs. Peace that will help you make the right decisions and stay in the game for the long run. Peace that will keep you calm even if your portfolio is blinking red and all currencies are showing losses. You have the power to stay calm, make a plan and execute the best strategy you can and not panic, scream or break your keyboard. I don't know who said it but I love this quote: "This too shall pass".

Happiness, sadness, depression and anger are known as feelings we can't control. They just happen - people say. But they couldn't be more wrong. We have full control over our lives but for some reason we let our mobile phones, the news or our relatives and significant others to decide how we feel. Breathing is key. There are many ways to switch between moods by being mindful, by analyzing why you feel a certain way and understand how your mind works. Is not as complicated as we think. Haven't you notice how when a friend is in trouble and in need for advice you always have a solution for them? Girlfriend or boyfriend troubles are easily solved if we are talking about someone else's life. Well we could use the same brain who helps our friends and family to help us.
Sit on a chair take 4-5 deep breaths, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Notice how after a minute you heart rate is slowing down and your mind is in peace. Try to understand how you feel. Ask yourself if there is a part of your body that doesn't feel right. Maybe you want to scratch your ear or you have a slight back pain. Don't try to change it. Just notice it. See how your body feels. Allow sounds from your surroundings to come to you for a moment then focus on your breathing again.
You can even count each inhale and exhale to really push all thoughts aside and let your mind be alone for a while.
Do this 5-10 minutes every day and I guarantee that you will feel better week after week and be able to use the full potential of your brain in any activity in your daily life, stressful or not!

And next time when you are worried about the price of a cryptocurrency going down ask yourself if this is helpful and remember you have full control if you are willing to take it.
