Oh, the "dick" part is not my name as in Richard = Dick.
Its Zak Ludick. With Ludick being my surname, that used to be Von Ludwig when traced back to Baron Heinrich Von Ludwig who came to South Africa and the bloodline stays here from there.
At some point there was a change of the spelling to make it more Afrikaans sounding which was predominantly Dutch and French names. Also, I am guessing to differentiate them from Germans during either the first or second world war... I am not sure which...
