Minecraft Update

in #minecraft2 years ago

In my opinion chat reports are a decent concept, but aren’t inherently good. the concept in theory is fine but most of the stuff we've seen in the early stages of this update have been unpolished, and the community has "mocked" mojang for that. i just think trying to push out the update to mainstream (1.19.x) this early when its clearly not fully developed and airtight was a BAD idea
but if the fact that minecraft is 7+ so 4-6 year olds shouldnt even be playing the game doesnt deter you, or the big warning screen saying "chat's unmoderated!! at your own risk!!" then part of what you get is what you asked for.
obviously leaking ip and other illegal activities (mentionable is one that starts with a d and ends with a x that i cant say in this server) are sins under any circumstance, and that goes without saying but for the less stonehearted and, y'know, illegal activities i feel this applies
also parental controls exist to keep kids safe, and to the people asking "how about children that make accounts on their own or parents that just don’t care?"
if a child was smart enough to buy the game, set up an account, and log on to a server ignoring the big warning screen i dont think profanities would affect them as much
minecraft 1.19 is also being slightly dramatized to seem like any word you say will get you permabanned which makes the update worse.
