Thoughts:
Mining is a fun way to be more part of the crypto community. You are facilitating transactions, making the network more secure, and lessening the gas fees for all that do perform transactions. I wasn’t able to find any good deals for desktop graphics cards in stock however I did find a site that has MSRP prices but they are for pre-order cards. When they get the cards in stock they will ship them to you and will only charge your cards once they ship to you(https://www.shopblt.com/). The cost of my miner, Lenovo-Legion 1660TI Ryzen-5-4600H laptop, was $888 and should pay for itself in 355.2 pending nothing changes.

Laptop Miner
Mining on a laptop has given me comparable results as I found on the nicehash website(https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-gtx-1660-ti). I average approx 2.50 a day after I take out electric cost and mine at a speed of 31MH/s. The laptop uses 101w doing only gpu mining with the screen off. I do use MSI afterburn and upped my memory 850mhz(https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner). This tool works on any graphics card and doesn’t have to be used with MSI brand video cards.
Energy cost and profit:
I receive 6 nicehash payouts per day that average 1.06 and my energy consumption for all 3 of my laptops use approx 430w per day at a rate of .10 per Kwh totaling= 1.03. All this and I make approx $5.30 a day or $1,934.5 a year.
Temperatures:
Setting this way helps decrease the GPU temp by a few degrees. The GPU is 56C and the laptop itself feels a little warm near the heatsinks in the back of the laptop. The power brick temperature feels la little above body temperature and is the hottest part of the miner.
Other laptop miners, I have with results:
HP Pavilion Gaming laptop 1050 Ti GTX - .70 24hrs
Alienware area 51m r1 2070- 3.20 24hrs
