Minimalist Inspired Desk Organization + Tips

in #minimalist7 years ago

Having an organized and clean space for work/studying is so important not only because it looks nice, but it also helps you gain more focus and productivity.

You can make the best out of your working/studying session by following some of these tips:

1. Clear out your desk

Depending on the size of your desk, try to keep only 3-5 items on the surface that you use regularly such as laptop, desk lamp, your daily planner or maybe you want to add a picture frame or a small plant. Everything else put away in drawers or shelves and bring it to your desk only when you need them. This will keep your space clutter free and it won't distract you from your work.

2. Have a proper light

This is very important especially if you're studying. The best way it would be to position your desk in front of a window so you can get the most out of natural light, which is the best. Desk lamp is a great choice for the evening/night time.

3. Make sure you have a comfortable chair

You can have the prettiest desk of them all, but when it comes to productivity, it is super important, alongside the two things I mentioned above, to be comfortable especially if you are working/studying for a long period of time. That's why I would definitely recommend to make sure your chair suits you and you feel comfortable using it.

I hope you found these tips helpful and these pictures I found on Pinterest inspiring. If you have any other suggestions, leave me a comment. :)

Wow looks like I need to take your advise. My desk looks like a pig lives at it...lol I have paperwork everywhere, and it is kinda dark in here too..lol
Thanks for the post.

You're welcome! :)
I think that just a little bit of a clean out and more light will make a huge difference.

I agree, I am going around my office now looking for a good place to move my desk...lol Gonna start a clean up here in just a bit. Only issue I seem to have is everywhere I want to move my desk, major sun glare on my screens...lol I will get there.. Amazing how one little post on Steemit can make you want to move things around and make them better...lol

I know exactly what you mean, I found window blinds to be a great solution because I can kind of control the amount of natural light so that it does not disturb be when I'm on my laptop.
I hope you'll find the best solution for you! Good luck! :D
