In a crazy world of fast fashion, environmental crises, storage lockers, depression, hoarding, devaluation, homelessness and people who are crazy busy working to pay for more STUFF than they'll ever need or use, there is something calming, gentle and healing about Minimalism.
In a world of knee-jerk impulse buying, Minimalism invites us to consider purpose, connection, necessity and the beauty and joy in the things we choose to surround ourselves with.
Kudos and credit to @millycf1976 for creating and nurturing this fledgling community and it's first successful contest, Minimalistic Lifestyle Choices: A Posting Contest.
So what is The Minimalist community all about? Ultimately about intentionality and simplicity in all areas of our lives - it's the slow-food equivalent juxtaposed in a frenetic, cluttered, drive-thru and disposable world. For some, it's mostly about sustainability and lightening our foot-print on Mother Earth. For others, it's the ultimate freedom to choose to own so little that one can easily travel, relocate and fit anywhere. It's also about curating your TIME to enable more experiences, rather than half a life spent cleaning, storing, insuring, sorting and updating "stuff".
Minimalism might be about a Haiku poem, a Tiny House or a Zen garden. It might be about reduced cost so funds can be used more intelligently.
There are so many ways Minimalism can enrich and inform a more conscious, considered and delberate life.

Yes, it's a new community; Just testing the waters, but I'm already proud of the potential I see in it, and I'm learning so much more about the topic. I truly believe this is a great contribution to the Blockchain.
