BBT Latest Episode: 2x Radeon Pro Duo Build and 7x RX580 8GB XFX Crimson and Black Edition

in #mining8 years ago

In BBT's latest Livestream the team covered a pretty interesting 2x Pro Duo (Fiji) build in a highly modified version of our open air frame case. The case was painted in Crimson Red and featured mounts for the dual watercoolers. The testing as shown in the episode showed some pretty good numbers (Eth and DCR), however at the expense of some serious power usage. The AMD Pro Duo card does require 3x VGA 8-Pin connectors per card and when dual mining exceed the maximum spec's of our power-supply. We have since swapped that out to a eVGA Supernova 1300 G2 PSU to handle the near 1100w requirement when dualmining.

@bitsbetrippin hi Carter welcome to steemit, I have been following your youtube channel since the days of litecoin mining, great videos

I have an issue with one of my old rig:
Sapphire 6xR9 290 Trixx OC
Asus Z97 A Motherboard
Windows 10

only one card is showing in the device manager other 5 card are detected but hidden.
Solution?

Nice if you feel like sharing send me a pc :) it will be streaming and mining :) encoding and rendering are the other options :D

I have seen Carter optimizing the BIOS of an RX 560. This did not work for my card when I tried. Where can I download an ETC optimized BIOS for a MSI RX 560 4GB (ITX, no pin)? Thank you.

Is it normal that simplemining on linux loading finds my RX580 X gaming 8gb as 480? Thanks :)
