My Personal PC Mining.

in #mining7 years ago

I have shown off my mining rig a few times now however i do run mining software on my personal pc aswell. I used to overclock it but it was getting a bit too much for it so i now run this at stock.
My specs are as follows:
: Gigabyte 980ti
: Asrock Extreme 4
: AMD 8350
: 16gb DDR3

Yes it is a fairly old computer now and i could do with updating it but i don't use it for much anymore as i am a little burnt out with gaming these days.

As you can see i am pulling nearly 400 sols at stock so it is worth running. Plus the good thing about running it at stock is i can use my computer for other things and it doesn't keep crashing nicehash.

As always i can answer any questions you have in the comments and thanks for reading.

Would you consider these specs to be around the bare minimum to do something like this? I've just gotten into crypto in the last few months and am still learning about the mining side of things. I never would have thought to see those specs for something like this.

This was more my gaming PC that i am just running mining software on when I'm not gaming on it. the 980ti it a beast of a card still and is still better than a 1070 for gaming. however for mining you don't really want to go these specs. The motherboard is a horrible motherboard as the VRM overheats and is a common problem which as you probably know and overheating is not good for a mining rig.
If you are going for minimum go for a GTX 1060 card (If you can find one) and the processor can be cheap but its all about the motherboard.

Living that mining life. Well done homie
