I've been dabbling in crypto for a little over 2 years now. This experience has been exhilarating during the highs with blockfolio constantly green, and then depressing during the lows, when even opening blockfolio could move me to tears. So I came up with a cunning plan, a plan so cunning, even Lord Blackadder would have been proud of it. This brain exploding revelation was to start mining crypto, because when the prices go back up again, I'll have bags full of the little buggers to sell. Genius or what!
The reality of my 6 months of mining experience will be forever documented in these articles. I look upon it as a cleansing experience, a way of washing away all of the pain and frustration to leave my mind in a happy place.
So where did I start, I hear you shout. I like to think that with my breeding and education, I'd be able to tackle knocking a few GPU's together and start bashing out some hashrate. Er...No!!! It's not that easy. The first thing I did was start doing some research and asking people if they mine crypto. I got some very odd looks from the domestic staff, malcolm my driver asked if I was feeling alright and Johnson the gardener told me, "There's no miners left since Thatcher got her way". Only Brown the Gamekeeper knew what I was talking about, and he suggested listening to some Podcasts and getting on social media. So I threw away my privacy and gave Mr Zuckerberg all of my data and joined some Facebook groups. I entered the character limited world of twitter @LordWolfofYorks and started learning, or so i thought.
What the hell is a Cuda? and who are Nvidia? The language was baffling, but slowly I started to sift through the rubbish. I need a decent PC with some GPU's, see how flippantly I use the lingo now. It took a while. Okay so if I buy a top end PC and get some GPU's I can mine. I was about to become one of the few, the hashers, the coin makers, the people who make the crypto world run.
