Hobby Mining Series: Finally got RIG2 up and running!

in #mining7 years ago

Hey Steemians, I hope you've had a good week thus far and are ready to take on the weekend! My Thursday started off really well as my replacement motherboard arrived in the morning. Due to me not knowing exactly why the one I used earlier failed me, I took extra care to not mess anything on it up while building RIG2.

Here's a picture of RIG1 and 2 running smoothly with little heat as well as noise (They're in my room for now).

Luckily my CPU wasn't damaged at all... so I carefully took off the CPU cooler, removed the CPU and placed it in the socket of the new motherboard.

I went for a test run and everything ran smoothly unlike with the prior motherboard. Until I buy three more GPU's I will just keep the 1060 mini in the pci-e slot on the motherboard.

I'm currently mining Monero with the CPU's and RIG2 and Ethereum with RIG1. This is just a hobby for now, and turning out to be a nice way of accumulating cryptocurrencies already. In the future I will be looking into coins with lower hashrates and price but before that I would like to reach certain targets with the coins I've allocated my rigs towards...

Thanks for stopping by on my blog today, if you enjoyed this post perhaps you'll enjoy the last few in this Hobby Mining Series.

Peace, Love and Light.
