My name is Santiago and iam a online marketing specialist, i remember in 2011 i read something about bitcoin but didnt pay much attention back then. Then i read it went uo to usd 1200 and then back down to around usd 200. I forgot about it until last april i saw bitcoin going up so fast and all alcoins too. I knew it was imposible to mine bitcoin with a normal computer and i thought it was like that for all the other cryptocurrencies, 3 weeks ago i realized that i could mine ethereum with videocards and a computer, with 2 other friends started to read all blogs possible about the subject and decided to get into the mining.
I finally made have 6 cards mining but it took me 2 weeks of researching and trying endless configurations.
I want to share some knowledge i have gained with you, and I hope you can profit from this too.
- If possible use ati cards rx470 4gb or 8gb, the problem is that now they are sold out almost everywhere but you can still find some nvidia cards at a fair price and mine zcash that is a ethereum derivated coin and get decent profits
- If you dont know much make it easy, go to simplemining.net , create and account, make the pendrive and just plug the cards on the computer (dont even need a disk), boot from the pendrive and you will be mining in less than 30 min, you can then control everything from a web panel, this is a great option if you dont want to waste time configuring, all you have to pay is usd 2 per card per month and considering a card is making usd 100 per card profit is not much to ask
- If you dare a little more i advise to flash the cards before, it it not difficult, i leave a tutorial here:
http://1stminingrig.com/sapphire-rx-470-nitro-oc-4gb-bios-flash-mod-tutorial-hynix-elpida-samsung-micron/#Save_original_Default_BIOS - If you want to use windows I recomend nicehash, it is very easy to use, you can choose your protocol and with it the coin you want to mine, it does a benchmark and tells you how much you will make on each card, really great : https://new.nicehash.com/
-One disclaimer if you are using windows with flashed cards you have to put an old driver because new ones will not work with flashed cards.
I hope this serves you and any questions you have i will love to help you
