...Middle class, You'll Soon Be Stronger!
Minnow-ASAP has officially launched and I managed to fill only 4 out of the 5 spots. I have carefully, with bunch of consideration been able to select 4 people so far, and that is after looking into dozens of potential candidates in total. I have looked into all nominations and I've read several applications that was sent to me in private. I have tried my best to pick users without including personal feelings and/or experience. I have tried to avoid personal opinions, and made these selections based upon what I believe would be the best for the community in general, and to bring us good, hard working users.
After I finally had decided on these candidates, I felt an overwhelming excitement to start this project as quickly as possible. I have described and talked about this project, my goals and the whole idea with this in previous articles. You can find them here, here and here. If you are interested in learning more, and/or if you have any questions, feel free to contact me on Discord at [EviLDoLLTV#9035], or in the comment section.
However, I would appreciate if you took the time to read the previous articles & the comments in those, as that might give you a better understanding of this.
The Awesome Steemians:
Even though I kind of gave it away in the cover image, I'll announce the individuals I have picked for the first Minnow-ASAP push. In no specific order: @curatorcat, @wildhomesteading, @kansuze and @skramatters.
fifth selection, declined. She wanted us to focus on others instead, so I will do my best to honor her wish. However, instead of presenting them, I think it would be better if these individuals would introduce themselves. None of these people have been contacted previously, but I do know that @cicisaja, which would've been the
If any of you decline this, just let me know and I will obviously remove you and the incoming Minnow-ASAP support.
I will personally power up 5 Steem to each user in 24-72 hours. I will wait until further confirmation, just to make sure they want to participate. On top of that, I will also give each account one 100% upvote per day, automatically, using Steemauto as seen below:
Going forward, I will also reward comments (randomly) from these users, in an attempt to grow them further. But, I will not stop there. I will also, starting from next week (exact date will be announced later) give each user 5 SBI, (@steembasicincome), shares.
This push will continue for a total of 2 weeks, (with other random acts of kindness along the way), until 2019-04-08. A re-evaluation will be done half way through and at the end of this push. This might not be enough to bring them into minnowhood, but I think it's a good start for the Minnow-ASAP project.
These people are below the "usual" limit of 450 Steem Power that most other initiatives have, but Minnow-ASAP does not exclude users depending on their size. We judge and base our support out of kindness, generosity and willingness to support "lesser" accounts in an attempt to strengten the middle class on STEEM.
I have no intentions of leaving these people before they reach the goal of 500 Steem Power, but I might alter things going forward as new, cool things might show up shortly. Also, I reserve the right to revoke any support the participants have, if and when I find them breaking any of the rules or doesn't fulfill the criterias.
That being said, I will continue to support these individuals, in one way or another, until they reach 500 SP. No matter how long it takes. That's the whole idea with Minnow-ASAP.
1 Spot Available.
Who Can Apply?
Everyone. Users close to 500 Steem Power will be prioritized. To be eligible for this specific, individual push, you cannot have enough liquid rewards to reach the goal and you cannot have an active power down. Active people who engage and stays out of trouble is obviously good candidates. Initially, we will take on a maximum of 5 users per push.
People Who Participated Previously:
This list includes people who've been involved in one or more pushes previously, and/or people who wants to be tagged whenever Minnow-ASAP news are coming.

Our Actions Matters.
Future Minnow-ASAP news might be published at any given point, and I will obviously share updates if, when and where I see fit. Next article is estimated to be shared once the last spot is taken. Feel free to resteem this or any other Minnow-ASAP articles for more exposure.
Thank you so much @hitmeasap for selecting me to be part of your minnowasap program! I have consistently been amazed by how awesome the community on steem is. When I first made my introduction post I was blown away by the amount of support I got from the community here. Overtime I have gotten to know more of you and engaging with this community is the biggest reason why I stay active on the steem blockchain.
A bit about myself—I run a website called Wild Homesteading which is a blog all about helping people to work with nature to start their homestead and grow their own food. I started the site back at the end of November 2018 and from the start I set it up to link back to steemit with each post to help promote the steem blockchain. I release a new blog post each Monday which always includes a companion post here on steem.
Here on the steem blockchain I post Monday through Friday and occasionally on the weekend. As a homesteader with a wife and kid (and another on the way!) plus a fulltime job I need the weekends to get work done on my homestead and on my site.
Each Monday I make a post that focuses on that week’s blog post. Tuesday’s are my Weekend Homesteading Report where I share what I was up to over the last weekend but I also try to cover the “why” and not just the “what” so you all can learn a bit from my work and hopefully be inspired to start or grow your own homestead/garden.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s are general posts that are mostly focused on homesteading/permaculture/gardening and working with nature. Sometimes I write a bit about my own journey here on steem when I think that might help others who are in a similar place in their own journey.
I also try to not just share my own stuff but also engage with you all through upvotes, resteems and by leaving comments. I also try to always leave a reply to comments on my posts. I may just be a red fish but I believe that even at this level there is a lot that can be done to add to this community and help it grow. I have also setup some autovotes to help other red fish on their own journeys.
Thanks again @hitmeasap – I really appreciate it and I hope to be able to pay this forward more in the future as I grow here on the steem blockchain.
Thank you all!
Sounds like a really interesting weekly schedule- I will follow with interest. Thanks for signposting @hitmeasap.

I am humbled, honoured, and inspired to have been selected for this gracious initiative @hitmeasap.
I'm perhaps a bit of a steem anomaly as previous to my experience here I had very little to no knowledge of crypto, dapps, blockchain, coding, dev, blogging/vlogging. I currently don't even own a PC or laptop so to say I'm not technologically adept would be a gross understatement.
I was introduced to steem by my brother in-law here in Malaysia where I reside. He told me a friend of his had a great deal of success here and since I teeter on the fringes of societal acceptance it might be a good place for me to mingle and speak frankly without impositions.
Essentially I was attracted by the notion that I could create whatever I wanted anonymously without any trepidations or limitations i had resigned myself to on other social media outlets. I can't say I'm a wildly revolutionary inclined character as I like to believe that unbiased tolerance and compassion are the cornerstone of my living philosophy. I'm grounded by the realization that everything boils down to intent. My intent is symbiotic relationships.
I came with no expectations or intentions to be a big earner or overnight success story on steam. Admittedly there have been frustrating events along the way and a sense of feeling isolated in a sea of well established steemians that's roles are well defined.
I don't have a concept, image, identity or any particular purpose here which I honestly feel is best for me and the ecosystem. I also firmly believe I represent or even epitomize what the future mass adopters of steem will look like and be seeking.
That is a mobile majority user that is here to be as much or more a content consumer rather than specifically driven to create or develop use cases. Engagement is probably enough for this user at first. Just knowing that even one person out there has the attention span and interest in sharing ideas initially is more galvanizing than monetization and lays a foundation for future earnings potential.
I have benefited greatly from my time here. I'm grateful to have a forum where I'm exposed to a myriad of innovative technologies I'd otherwise be oblivious to. Slowly but surely I'm feeling more of a collective or community oriented vibe thanks to the supportive steemians such as those involved in these minnow projects. This is in direct alignment with what I suppose is my goal of fostering symbiosis that transcends any language, cultural, or geographical barriers.
It would be ideal to be able to inform the community precisely what I bring to the table but like this entire decentralising experiment I'm working on just what that is. I may never figure it out but just as IRL I'm committed to enjoying the ride...

Hi! Auntie Luz gave you 5 sbi shares. Hope this helps you in your steemit journey. See you in the minnowhood soon!
Thank you very much Auntie Luz, it will indeed help...Have a great weekend...

Congrats, @skramatters. Glad you stayed, in spite of the frustrations at certain times. Proud of you!

Much appreciated @simplymike the only steemian to see my unfiltered rants. Everyone else has gotten diluted versions, but you my friend got the unabashed purity of my near rage-quit..
Water under the bridge now, and thanks again for your understanding and support 🤗

No problem. Just very happy you stayed and that it paid off :0)
Congratulations 😉 let's see what I can do for the chosen 4 😊 and thank you for your consideration to exclude me from the list 😉 I'd love to support them too😊
You're an amazingly kind and generous person @cicisaja. A perfect candidate for something like this, but instead of taking this opportunity to grow yourself, you instantly declined and wanted us to focus on others instead. A true giver. Thank you!
@cicisaja, I could write another comment on what an amazing lady you are, but I would only be repeating myself for the 100th time :0) I'll just say I agree with @hitmeasap for the full 100% 😉
Every day again, you manage to make me smile from ear to ear (or rolling on the floor laughing)! We're all blessed having someone like you around (see? There I go... repeating myself again, lol)

😂😂😂 you knew I learned from the best on steemit😉 I encountered gorgeous people like you and other amazing kind of newbiegames, hit me A.S.A.P and pay it forward in my early day on steemit. I remember how many of my friends being pushed by community to be a minnow within a week.
I've been supporting by so many people but I keep enjoy my slow grow, I can't create posts for a challenge too😆, so @simplymike😉 it's better to support the one who still full of spirit an in need😊 Im in need... but my way to minnowhood only a few more weeks. So... send your support to someone else😂😂😂
Thank you @hitmeasap! Wow! I'm honoured. I joined Steemit in December 2017 at an exciting time when Steem, and therefore my account, was higher every time I checked it. What a ride!
I try to post daily but that usually means 5-6 times per week, and I usually post on a mix of topics like travel, gardening, rocks, nature, and things I might be involved in at the time such as my ongoing music goal and science days at a local preschool.
I have found my spot in a community here and I'm getting to know people from different countries. I think that is important - that is what the internet was supposed to do, bring us together. I love getting glimpses into how life is in other countries and you will get the odd glimpse into mine.
Thanks again @hitmeasap. My goal for the longest time has been to give others a .02 upvote and then I'll aim for .03. This will help a lot!
Hi! Auntie Luz sending some sbi shares your way to help you grow in this platform! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Auntie Luz. That's so generous of you.
Thank you so much for your kindness @hitmeasap, and for including me in this program!
I have been watching both the @steevc and @steemcommunity efforts to build Minnows and more of a middle class and even though I fall below their typical focus (in terms of SP) I have been trying to support with votes, engagement, and so on. I have not asked to be included in any of these efforts since I have a gift delegation at the moment.
Anyway, about me: I have been on Steemit for a year and a few days, and basically wanted to create a more "frivolous" type account in what otherwise seemed like an ocean of crypto/programming/blockchain/anarchy focused content.
My intent from the start, however, was always to build this account through (a) posting content of some "value" and (b) building community through engagement. In spite of this being quite a part time effort, I have about 200 top level posts with many hundreds of "personal" photos (of our cats, of course!), and have left in excess of 3,500 comments on other people's content. Hence the name CURATORcat.
My goals for this year was to get to 500SP and "full minnowhood" by the end of June, and then a more ambitious target of 1000SP by the end of 2019. I tend to power up most of the time, but keep some liquid Steem/SBD on hand for prizes for occasional contests/drawings I have, and top off my @dustsweeper account. Big fan of @steembasicincome in which I now have 60+ shares.
Some of my "greater" ambitions have been/are to promote #caturday here in our community (it has been "a thing" around the web for over a decade, and to build a Steem "cat lovers community" around the tag #catsofsteemit which I have been promoting regularly since December. In the longer term, once I reach 1000SP I plan to start making (probably 50SP) delegations to ambitious and eager newcomers who are struggling to manage their resource credits.
In "other bits and pieces" I have been part of @abh12345's "Curation and Engagement Leagues" for almost as long as I have been here, and am also part of @paulag's "Redfish Power-up League," both of which help me stay focused and interested in keeping it up!
Thanks again for the opportunity!
Hi! Auntie Luz here with a goodie for you hehe! I sent 5 sbi shares your way. Hope it helps you. See you in the minnowhood!
@curatorcat, your the coolest cat I ever met (aside from the ones that allow me to live with them, of course 😉).
Congrats on getting selected. You definitely deserve it!

fantastic to see you do this again. I have visited these 4 accounts and shown some love and when the 250 new minnows in a month is over, I will turn back on my auto voter and put these dudes on it
Of course! My goal is to build a stronger middle class and to push new people into minnowhood. It's a must to make Steem better.
But, to go with users less than ~450 SP (that often seems to be the limit to be eligible support from other initiatives out there), obviously makes this challenging on new levels. The main goal for users far below the 450SP is basically to close the gap between red fish and minnow, so they'll be able to reach the necessary levels to be eligible support from other projects.
Thank you for the support! :)
This is the sort of thing I love to see. People are just helping others to make Steem better. Some say it's all about greed, but I can show them this.
I'm glad you like it Steve. I don't like greed and selfishness. I would rather swim with the little guys, than to allow greed and selfishness rule over me. I give, when and where I can, because it makes me feel good.
The potential outcome of giving is amazing, so I'll continue to focus on the little ones and to build a stronger middle class in general.
This comment was made from https://ulogs.org
This is a fantastic idea and I'm happy to see that there are people in this community helping others in this community grow as well.
When I first landed here on Steemit, it is a very confusing place ... did not even realize that there will levels. I can see now how having strong class system of voting people could help others make the Steemit platform very valuable.
Keep doing great work!
Once again an awesome initiative, @hitmeasap.
The comment by @cicisaja made me laugh, because it is so typical for Cici, lol. @cicisaja, you rock, but you already know I think you're the best.
Congrats to the soon-to-be minnows. I must admit I only know @skramaters a little, and of course I know @curatorcat. That kitty is really doing good :0)
@hitmeasap, I don't know if you take delegations into consideration, but I might have a suggestion to fill that 5th spot.
Ever since I got to know @tryskele, she's been so supportive towards others. I think she used to be one of my Redfish Rockets a couple of months ago (@tryskele, please correct me if I'm wrong). Always there to help and support, even though she hasn't got a lot of SP of her own. Last week, I decided she really deserved to get over that 500sp mark and delegated 150sp - even though I've been focusing on newcomers these last couple of months. With 3 delegations, she has now a little over 500sp, but I think it would be great if she could grow her account to reach that mark without having to rely on delegations.
I really think you're doing a great thing here. And it makes me really happy to see so many people are trying to contribute and help people to reach minnowhood.
But that's also exactly the reason why I decided to minimize my support. Not because I don't want to grow that middle class, but because so many people are taking action already, while there are so many promising newcomers who have to get around with 15sp or less. It's the invisible category of people - most of them can make a post and like 6 comments, and then have to wait two days for their RC to recharge again. The ladies of the @heyhaveyamet initiative are taking up the awful task of going through a zillion of posts with the #introduceyourself tag, trying to find the gems in between all the poor quality posts. Now so many people are helping people who are close to minnowhood to grow their account, I can afford to delgate small amounts of SP to a lot of newcomers, just so they have a little breathing space and at least get a fair chance to get to know SteemIt and become part of the community. Because this RC system is killing the platform. Even with a small delegation, the number of people that leaves again within one month is huge.
If no action is taken, there will soon be no redfish left to push to minnowhood.
So after a talk with @paulag, I decided to just keep doing what I was already doing: trying to keep people with potential motivated enough to stay here, so the stream of new users who have something valuable to add to the blockchain won't dry up.
... all this just to explain why I do not join the ongoing initiatives. I don't want anyone to think that I don't care anymore, lol. Because I do. I just want to make sure that you don't run out of redfish to push to minnowhood :0)

I have no problems supporting people with delegations. If something, I think it's great if people have delegations actually, as it shows that the user is reliable, legit and hard working. @tryskele is a great candidate, I appreciate that you reminded me.
Regarding your support:
Like you explained, you might not support these people, or any other "soon-to-be-minnows," but you are doing other amazing, and very important things. There are people out there doing nothing, so you have nothing to worry about. I think everyone would prefer you doing what you're doing, than nothing at all. I can totally understand your approach and I think it's a wonderful act of kindness. Like you said, RC is a huge problem and I've thought about offering delegations actually, but I need to focus on one thing at the time. lol
Except for improving the minnow-asap project with ideas I already have planned, I'm looking into possibilities of leasing Steem Power to push people faster than ever before. However, it seems to be really expensive, and even though I'm okay with a loss on it, I'm not sure I want a 60% loss...
I'm looking into other options and I've started to ask around a bit, so we'll see what happens in the near future. But I'm eager to push dozens of people frequently with this!
About the leasing SP part, it is pretty okat wheb using DLease. I could help you out with some smaller delegation without charging a lot. It depend a litgl.on the amounts you have inmind.
Hit me up on Discord
(@simplymike#5957) . I can't make any promises yet, but who knows we can figure something out

This post has been included in the latest edition of SoS Daily News - a digest of all the latest news on the Steem blockchain.
Glad @wildhomesteading made it on the list as he's very deserving and will be graduated in a month or less is my prediction.
Glad to see all these accounts getting additional support to hopefully keep them on the platform and motivated at posting and becoming the next dolphins/orcas on the platform.
Thank you! :) I would love to graduate in that amount of time!
Yeah, he has had an amazing run so far, and this will yield him even greater results. He deserves it, and we deserve it. I appreciate the comment. :)
I've been thinking and thinking in the best way I can help this little fishies. Becoming minnow its important but once we help 'em get in the "minnowhood" most of them will keep getting the same low rewards and I want to make sure they get something permanently, cause that's one of the main reasons people leave steemit. I curate 15-40 posts per day plus I have my adoption project, adopting another person its impossible for me cause I'm just another minnow but what I can and will do is sending sbi shares their way if they say they are in. So instead of powering them up, I will send them sbi shares to make sure they get will get votes in their post. Once they confirm they wanna be part of this project I will start sending sbi shares their way and I invite others to help this little fishies sending them some sbi shares too.
I can totally understand your point, and SBI-shares is a wonderful gift! I will give each user SBI shares too because I truly believe that it will encourage people to put in even more effort. Effort often equals rewards, so it's important to encourage and educate.
That being said, the concerns you brought up are valid, people tend to leave Steemit once, A) They don't earn as much as they expected or B) When the rewards decrease. Either due to support or the actual value of Steem.
Unfortunately, it's the sad reality we have on Steem. But, by empowering others, we will not only strengthen the middle class on STEEM, we will also encourage these users at the same time. I know the feeling I got when I recieved a delegation for instance. I was eager to put in more effort than ever before. It was a way to show my appreciation and to give something back.
So, along the way to minnowhood, these users will put in more effort, engage more and also, get more support outside of Minnow-ASAP so to speak. They will build their profiles and grow their personal followings. With all of that, comes also increased rewards. And, ultimately, they will most likely want to give back to the community, so I see it as a win/win-situation.
My main reason for donating Steem/Steem Power directly to users are to give them a "jump-start" in terms of motivation and encouragement. Besides all of these things, there are things like the Redfish Power UP League and/or the Curation and Engagement Leagues. I obviously recommend those to everyone, but especially these users, as it would yield them even better results.
Who, why, how and when people decide to support is entirely up to them. I don't judge anyone based on how they support or what they believe is the best. I will focus on doing things my way, having my own reasons. If others do the exact same thing or not doesn't matter, as long as we, at the end of the day, are trying to strengthen the middle class. :)
Cheers for the mention of the leagues, we got this one for the Minnows too:
https://steemit.com/community/@steemcommunity/the-minnow-power-up-league-week-26
50 STEEM each week going out as liquid or @steemmonsters cards, courtesy of @yabapmatt. 30 + bounty + SBI's from the EL, and 6 SBI's from Paula for the Redfish. Plenty to help as long as folks are aware.
Good luck with #minnow-asap!
I agree with blacklux about the SBI and once they confirm I'll send some too as well as supporting them with votes.
That's awesome! :)
What an excellent opportunity @hitmeasap. I was led here by @wildhomesteading so I thought I would take the chance to throw my name in to the pool and I thank youfor the opportunity.
I post a variety of topics about life in general which may include tutorials and inspiration.
Once again, thank you for the oportunity. 😊
That's awesome! Thank you for the comment. :)
There have been a few applicants for the last spot, but I will shortly share updates regarding this project, so regardless of the remaining spots, we might be able to make something happen in the future for more users.
Great start buddy! Thanks for your dedication and support! Will provide what I can as well!

I would never participate in any form of "follow for follow" type of scheme, and I don't endorse or recommend it. This is also one of the worst articles you can "pitch" that type of stuff in right now, as this is the exact opposite of what I'm looking for.
I will not report you for spam this time though, and I will not flag you, so you should consider this to be your first and final warning.
