RE: Where have all the upgoats gone? - The state of the Boost

in #minnowbooster7 years ago (edited)

In order to continue to provide the service we aim to offer, we have begun the process of vote buying. As explained in Minnowbooster needs your vote, we are utilizing member votes to fulfill requested boosts, and paying those members for the use of that vote.

Is this going to be opt-in or opt-out for your “members?”

Also - why do you continue using “member” votes on your posts here when you have paid subscriptions and other revenue models via your various vote and delegation selling? I think it’s time that you reconsider socializing your costs and simply further lining your pockets with the limited rewards pool. With the high fees that you charge for your voting/delegation “services,” and apparently with such high demand, you don’t need to continue this practice.

Sort:

I think you are mixing steemvoter and minnowbooster here? Obviously selling your vote is opt-in.

I am happy to discuss with you on how to improve the current situation.

Steemvoter and Minnowbooster use the same votes on their “daily upvote” posts - because it’s the same person behind all of these “businesses.”

But you know this.

Well but that is different from sell your vote. I thought you accused us of selling the votes of steemvoter users???

And yes this is a steemvoter subscription post as stated in the footer. We can discuss about your concerns, once we got the terminology right :)

The terminology hasn’t changed since January/February when myself and others brought this up to Ricardo. It’s more of the same BS. You guys have actual revenue models - and the cuts that you take are not small. I think it might be time to stop socializing your costs via the reward pool on essentially repetitive content.

Since business is booming, why continue this...unless it’s just because you can? You claim to “boost minnows” while simultaneously taking from the limited pool as much as you can on a daily basis. Add the costs of vote-purchasing and delegation renting, plus the stake-vote dilution with the many voting and delegation schemes, and it’s kind of hard to see any “boosts” for minnows as a whole at all.

Not that all minnows necessarily need “boosting” in the first place.

This is mixing multiple concepts. There is the SV vote on announcements and there is minnowbooster.

The SV vote is something we can probably fade out. The visibility it gives is no longer needed all that much.

The minnowbooster model is something that sprung a lot of discussion the last week and I'd love to read a post about it, if you have the time to write down your opinions. The steem community needs to look for a consensus there.

I’m not talking about the “new model.” The only reference I made to that was regarding the opt-in.

I’m talking about using the votes of your Steemvoter sign-ups to upvote your SV, MB, and BuildTeam posts. Stop attempting to make it seem as if I’m the one conflating things here. I know the difference between the services and the voting schemes. And this isn’t our first interaction about this very topic.

Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ...

Are all of you on this “team” shady/dishonest/disingenuous?

I'll probably get slamafied, but thank you for those comments. Personally I have muted most of the minnowboost (boasting) bots. But this is steemit, and there really are not many rules. People can sit around and watch the rewards pool be raped, or they can try to do something about it. I view your conversation as trying to do something about it. So thank you. I would give an upvote, but I am trying to conserve rebuild to upvote the content I truly enjoy. My apologies.

The SV vote is something we can probably fade out. The visibility it gives is no longer needed all that much.

We'll try it the next post without the SV vote.

I am leasing my SP to you and getting nothing. Delegating 150SP and today I got 0.008 SBD. Is that a joke....

Hi, the @minnowbooster account hasn't really voted today and when it does you will receive a prorata share of the revenue, but the account has so much delegation that your 150 SP will get a very small prorata share. I suggest rather undelegate and register yourself as a bot or create another account and delegate to it and register it to allow us to sell its vote.

You can also try find some open orders of that size on our delegation market to fill, that will give you a stable return.

yes, I got it. didn't think that way before. Open orders would do too. I don't know if being a bot is a good thing for me, as sometimes there are many errors to fix, and you get negative comments why something was not paid in time.... I think I'm not really ready for this

how to undelegate steem power? Please could you explain

It is same as delegation. Just give the SP as 0.

Hi @ats-david, hope you are doing well. Each service @steemvoter and @minnowbooster have their own profit centres, we treat each as a profitable business which provide income backed revenue for BUILDTEAM token holders, in December we release our simulated vesting feature to our Bitshares token, with a 90 day powerdown script, simulating what our token will be like as an SMT in future.

It is our duty to remain profitable and ensure that our token performs and is a credit to the Bitshares ecosystem, to our team and to Steem SMT's in future.

I also wish to clarify that Minnowbooster and Steemvoter have different customer databases and are not mixed, Minnowbooster customers don't get used in the Steemvoter upvote posts which is what we use to promote announcements across our various projects. I hope that clarifies.
