Steemit is just like high school. It's a popularity contest. If you want upvotes, you have to research what posts are paying out the most and then do much the same thing. It's unfortunate. Your photos are quite impressive. But the people here at Steemit are mostly into the cryptocurrancy angle and will just gloss over your posts. Steemit is just a slice of life. It's hierarchical. The rich (whales) get richer while the rest of us provide content and try to get by. It's all about contributing to the community. But you have to give the community what it wants. You can't sell hotdogs to a vegetarian.
I'm new here. I've been scoping the place out before I commit. Like you, I'm going to post things that are meaningful to me. If I'm well received I will continue down that path. If I'm not, I'll try a different approach. Ted Guisel, the famous Dr. Seuss tried many things before he became a children's book writer. One of his axioms about life was "If at first you don't succeed, try something else." Here I am. Trying something else. Don't give up. Steem on!
