Dorabot's ?upvote command
PALnet, in the #upvote channel.It is time to retire @dorabot's upvote command. This command has been available in MSP's Discord Server,
I added it to @dorabot's command set just for fun and to not let her Voting Power go wasted. Initially, there was not much SP to talk about, but as I recently have been running tests in the background with a new kind of vote bot, I had around 1K SP delegated.
The ?upvote command was set to only vote with 1%, which resulted in a fabulous vote of not more than $0.01 SBD. π But people were more than happy to use it. Especially in times when the @minnowsupport bot was down, @dorabot got under enormous pressure.
Please see below how popular this command had grown. Each dot on the graph represents the number of upvotes each day.
As so many had grown attached to @dorabot's upvote command, it put an unnecessary burden on the mods/admins. People were asking questions about it if an upvote failed and were demanding for it to work...
So to make the #upvote channel$upvote command will work from now on. more transparent and easier to manage, only @minnowsupport's

I only used it once and I think the power had been drained because I don't remember the vote being worth anything. It was still fun to use though.
Yeah, don't overextend yourself on a free service. It's nice to help people, but if they're demanding that you fix it so they can get a free vote, that's not cool. At least Dora can still do other things. Maybe someone can make an "elf on the shelf" version of her. :)

I used dorabotβs pick-the-winner command above. If write @dorabot ?winner anywhere in your comment, she will be triggered and randomly pick a winner from all the upvotes. In this case there are no upvotes so she will tell you π
