Ludwig von Mises, on my opinion, is the greatest scientist of the 20th century. The greatest of these lies in defining the foundations of the methodology of the social sciences. That is, after it social sciences can acquire scientific rigor and cease to be the lot of those who were not taken to mehmat in view of impassable stupidity.

I write "can" because social sciences, more precisely, social scientists are not going to do it. They do not need scientific rigor, because scientific rigor leads to extremely unpleasant conclusions for all this tusovka. In particular, that the vast majority of the "problems" they are studying are a trivial assimilation of the budget in exchange for justifying the existence of a parasitic structure called "state."
Therefore, as long as the state exists, Mises's discoveries will not become mainstream and social sciences will remain at the level of astrology and alchemy. They will not be able to turn into astronomy and chemistry.
Counting on the fact that Mises will be part of academia is pointless. But no one abolished self-education. Learn Mises and the Austrian school! You will not become scientists, but you do not need it, but forever you will gain immunity to all kinds of social quackery, which impersonates science. And the state will learn to understand what is important even from a practical mercantile point of view.
