Where are all the baseball fans hanging out on Steemit?

in #mlb7 years ago

With opening day just 2 days away for my beloved Blue Jays, I'm thinking where are all the baseball fans hanging out on steemit?

There's got to be some tag or account everyone is following?

Since I'm spending so much time here on steemit, someone has to have some suggestions on where to get my baseball fix around here? No need to go to multiple apps and website to read all the latest news. That's the future of steemit right, but where is the baseball hiding?

There must also be some accounts maybe I can take part in some predicting and win some steem/sbd. I'll like just predict a win for the Jay's everytime and it may fail miserably but, heck if they do win a few games this season it'll be great to chirp a few people.

Maybe I should be totally over the top

I'll go ahead and predict right here right now that we are going to sweep the Yankees in our opening series!

Anyone else believe that's possible? Maybe we can have to odds on that one? I know everyone is raving about the Yankees and there big bats this season, it's definitely going to be exciting to be watching the AL east and after last year the Blue Jays can't really disappoint me anymore...lol.

Anyways in short, hoping to make friends with a few baseball fans around here

how 'bout those Yankees!!!!!

We show'd them today at least! Great game.

Check out these guys ... @writesbackwards they have some interesting takes on the season ...

I am also looking for baseball predictions and general banter on here, but as you, have no idea where to look or if anyone is doing it ...

if you find something, tag me ... and if I find something ill tag you ....

I did notice them when I was checking some tags out, I'll keep an eye on that. Otherwise sounds great man, PS while we're chatting who's your team, so I can go over and razz you in we even play.

haha, well ... I am sure we mutually hate the Yankees .... but, I am an Os fan ... :) cheer to a good season and mutual hatred of the Sox and the Yanks !

Everyone hates the Yankees! It's the way it should be.

Best of luck to your O's today vs. my Twins. Can't wait to watch!

ah. Love the Envy! All you can do now is hope for our Yankees to get injured. So pitiful to watch. LOL

Honestly, the past 3 years I have had a lot of respect for the Yankees, they closed their purse strings, built a team from a farm system, used their draft picks wisely and I was genuinely happy for them to make the playoffs last year.

Its when they start tossing money around and paying the luxury tax without batting an eye that my levels of hate of the Yanks builds and it sure looks like they are headed down that path again.

I don't wish harm on any of their players, I do wish failure thou, it is the ultimate in justice when you spend a shit ton of money on a "winning team" and don't make the playoffs.

Either way, will enjoy another season of banter !

Oh... banter ye shall receive! Do you think the O's are capable of 90 wins? ...and a shot at the playoffs? I believe it will take at least 90 this year for both AL WC spots.

I agree on needing 90 wins ... to sure the Os have the bats or the arms to make it happen this year ... I am very skeptical for this season

If you guys want a bold prediction, read my article and tell me what you think.

On opening day, I'll be sitting in the nosebleed seats at Comiskey Park (because Chicago folks don't call it Guaranteed Rate Field). Here's a prediction, the 2020 World Series will feature 2 Chicago teams. Go Sox!

A few years out, but that would be a heck of a world series, could you imagine they city!

as long as it doesn't feature another presidential candidate, I'm good! Imagine that: a WS where the temp won't get above 35 and the wind will be howling at 20 mph. Oh, fun. LOL

season starting soon GO JAYS!

Oh yeah, lets hope Pillar can stay hot for the season, if that guy can hit for .avg and get on base it would be great.

Oh, I'm right here! I'll be talking about how good my Twins are gonna be this year. If you haven't made it to the best field in the league yet, I would highly recommend it. Target Field is something quite spectacular. Nothing like baseball season, bring it on!!!

Yeah, I really need to make the rounds, I really wanted to try to make it to Wrigley Field last year when the Jay's were playing an inter league series there. Hopefully I can get somewhere this year!

I have open doors. So if you want to explore MN and catch a game (we play the jays end of April I believe :)) let me know!

Oh man, that's tempting, won't be early in the year though, baby #3 is due next week!

Well congrats on the soon to be new addition! Lmk if you make it in the fall :)

Target Field needs a retractable roof!!!

Target Field is an homage to the old met where the Senators used to play, where the Mall of America sits today. We had the Dome for years, and although it gave us a nice home field advantage with the crowd noise, I love outdoor baseball, especially in the fall. Not to mention the ridiculous added cost to put on a retractable roof...paid for by the taxpayers of course.

A retractable roof could EASILY be paid for by sponsorship. Please. When it's open, it can become the roof of an amazing flea-market / outdoor agora, if so desired. No taxpayer money needed... EVER, for private sports enterprises. Taxation is THEFT.

The Twins ownership would never shell out for it (I know they could afford it too), the Pohlad family. We are in agreement about taxation being theft and taxpayer money shouldn't be used to fund these things. They just built US Bank Stadium a few blocks away that does have a roof where a lot of those activities can be hosted at.

I think it has to become league-wide rule: If you don't have a retractable or total indoor facility, you give up your home field games during the playoffs and have to play on a neutral field like it's done with the Super Bowl. Give each team 10 years moratorium to gitterDunn. I mean crap: with the price of tickets to see a playoff game, should a fan have to deal with shit weather? ...and the resulting lowerQuality play from their teams? NO.

Baseball is so nice to watch i like it
