Sparks Steak House

Iconic eatery in mid-town Manhattan
For many years I have traveled into New York City, I have always wanted to go to Sparks Steakhouse, one, for a great steak. Two, because I am really into the mob history and this is the place, where in, December of 1985 Gambino boss Paul Castellano was gunned down by orders of the dapper don John Gotti. In some odd way it attracted me to want to see the front, the sidewalk where the new footage always went to in the mob documentaries.

So, one trip into the city one of my friends, who lives there, ask me if I wanted to try it. I am finally getting my chance, I thought. We pull up and it is exactly like the news footage shows, kind of eery, that someone was gunned down exactly where I was standing. The place looks exactly the same as it did in 1985, I assume the interior looks the same as well. Looks like a place off the Godfather movie.

So, the food, what about it, was it amazing? FOr sure, the steak was one of the best I have had, baked potato was the size of a NFL football. Amazing! The dessert was homemade whip cream and fresh strawberries, again, amazing.
All around it was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone!
