Hello, guys! I trust we all are kicking strong.
So in a previous post which you can find here, I did alert us on the first ever Blockchain vote for movies, courtesy of mogul productions the first ever decentralized film financing platform. The event, scheduled for 5th to 19th of this month, August, has been ongoing for a while and I must say it’s absolutely watching the votes increase each day on each showcased movie as the masses cast their vote for their favorite movies with hope its ultimately win the funding from mogul
So far, of the three shortlisted movies, Terminal Station seems to pull most of the votes, while Mr-9 attracts the least vote as at now. I did drop the synopses of the three movies in the previous post on the showcase vote, so here I will attempt to outline the basics of the voting procedures and hope you find it useful. It is not too late to jump in and campaign/vote for your favourite movie as we still have a couple more days before the close of the event.
So let’s get started on how to vote for your preferred movie at mogulF
First off, you need to visit and register an account on mogul platform if you are yet to. Go here: www.mogulproductions.com
You need some stars token in your wallet for the voting and also some amount of eth for gas
You can only vote on pc or desktop and with your account connected to metamask browser extension. So have this installed in your system then log into your mogul account, click on the browser extension icon on the top right side of your desktop, then choose metamask just as seen below to activate it.
Next, you have to connect you mogul account to the metamask. Click on the connect wallet button just under your profile picture in your mogul account. This brings up a little popup window with “metamask” in a yellow highlight.
Click on that highlighted part to bring up the full metamask window as seen on the right side of the screenshot above. Input your password and unlock your wallet.
- Your account should be fully connected to your wallet once the page reloads. Next, go to SHOWCASE from the menu options. This takes you to the showcase movies. Click on the VIEW button on each of the movies to access their details such as their vote statuses, synopses, scripts, cast/crew details, among others.
- Make your choice carefully. Bear in mind mogul will distribute half of its proceeds from the movie to all its token holders. Meaning the more proceeds the winning movie fetches, the more you will earn too. Hence your choice of movie must be economically viable and meet a global standard. Go thru the synopses and scripts so to make a well informed decision.
- Having discovered your favorite, it’s time to vote for it. From its details page, input the amount of stars you wish to commit to the vote.
Once done, click on vote.
- You will get a popup like the one below from your metamask. You are required to confirm your transaction which will take the stars from your wallet and deposit them in your chosen movie pool. Remember mogul is built on Ethereum blockchain network hence, you need some eth in your wallet to cover the transaction fee.
Click on confirm to approve the transaction and wait to you have a success notice from metamask.
Congratulations, you have successfully participated in the first ever Blockchain movie vote!
You can visit the platform at anytime to monitor the voting progress. The winning movie will be green-lit for funding and production once the event ends on the 19th of August.
