I pick my spots when it comes to Hive contests for sure but I love the team that powers @qurator and love me some Halloween so here we go!

Halloween, this year, is like any other as you may imagine. People are growing tired of the covid-based restrictions to their normal life. The prospect of sending children to a couple hundred strange homes to gather disease infested candy is concerning others. Overarching that, the province is having to balance guidance and restrictions to cover both high-population areas where cases are on the rise, and smaller towns where cases are still low and well managed.
Where we are, there are both extremes and it has been deemed that children can trick or treat out doors if they wear masks and stick to their bubbles. As we navigate that, I happily observed the Halloween decorations bloom around town when the announcement was made!
My better half is the seasonal decorator of this team so the greatness in the following shots is none of my doing.

I am not sure this is as scary a ghost as you might imagine but it is saying Boo so there you have it. This is the fellow that is guarding my front entrance and will inspect all of the ghouls and goblins that visit our house next week.

Apparently, our house is a dead end and marked as such by a jolly roger. The little glowy skull is studying the ants and weeds. Please ignore the fellow we buried in the front flower bed. Apparently he was not quite dead enough and managed to crawl an arm out before he expired.
On a side note, I am enjoying the recent campaign for leaving the leaves on the ground for soil nutrients and a place for the insects to do their winter thing. The war on laziness is coming full circle!

These tormented souls haunt the torture tree and scare away timid souls. Apparently the guy in the hat sees something else worth monitoring but nothing will escape this troupe.

These bashful and stylish ghouls adorn our mantle and are suggesting how you might react to them but are not all that convincing. Not sure what the significance of the sparkly spiders is but it is the centerpiece of this spooky spectacle.

I must say that I do enjoy the selection of ornaments. They seem to be fairly well done with smiley faces and such. A repurposed vase is filled with coloured crystals for that magical aura.

Bonesy stands tall with his hands on his hips scaring the shit out of dog walkers who think they might like a closer look. Good thing people are a little more appreciative of being creeped out than other months.
