Governments are worried about bitcoin and how it affects their ability to control the monetary system. Monero increases their problem exponentially.
The cryptocurrency Monero was created in 2014 and address another problem; the traceability of bitcoin transactions i.e. the lack of anonymity in bitcoin transactions.
Many people seem to think bitcoin is untraceable and transactions are private. That is not correct. Numbers not names identify bitcoin wallets. If you make a transaction you reveal your number, and along with it, possible details of all your past transactions as well as how much money you have. There are ways to obfuscate bitcoin transactions and protect your privacy, or you could use a currency that has privacy at its core. The currency is monero (XMR) - an untraceable digital currency.
