This is a huge milestone! because in the past, people didn't take Steemit seriously nor did they understand the power off Steempower.

His upvotes can be as high as $500 at full power, so even at a fraction of his full power upvote, he can give out $100 at a time, multiple times a day, and if he splits up his upvote power he can give out $20 to dozens of people, so follow this whale!
Now whats very cool is that @TheJohalFiles doesn't ven have any Blog posts yet! See?
So how does he make so much money? How did he go from a few hundred thousand in March to a few MILLION dollars in steempower now??? He just makes comments and upvotes posts earning curation rewards! about $2000 per week he makes off curation! THIS is why curation is so important!!! So they deserve every penny they get and we should be helping them to STAY! If we all show we LOVE them,they will be more likely to stay even as steem price falls! It WILL go back up! Having to pay certain people to view your content seems to be against the interest of the platform as a whole. If the growth continues to accumulate upwards, which I don't see why it wouldn't because of how SteemPower works, then a small percent of the community will have a monopoly on what succeeds on the system as a whole. That is problematic in my mind.
I totally agree with @lilrut. In the real world, the government shut monopoly down because the marketplace is no longer safe for consumers. The free market has its benefit and disadvantages. It's good to have a strong conviction, but don't get blinded by it.

if you got enough steem power that your vote puts anything into the 'hot' page, then you have a pretty big advantage, but in general it is really inspiring to see someone doing this well with curation
