You are here for the $$$, that's good!
Dear Steemians, welcome to my course on “HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH INTERNET MARKETING”. This is the 1st chapter of my “How to make money with Amazon Affilliate” guide. If you missed the Introduction chapter, please look at it first as this is a series of articles which should be studied successively. You can find chapter 1 here:
Chapter 1
Niche research
In this chapter we would look at what is important to consider when choosing a niche. A niche is the main topic your site revolvs around and would be closely attached to the products we would be offering. Many people over-analyze and get stuck here. You can make a steady income in just about any niche you choose, as long as it satisfies a few key rules of thumb:
Rule #1 – There should be scores of products being sold on amazon.com
Product cost should be at least $50, and at least a handful of these should have more than fifty 4 and 5 star reviews
• Amazon pays a comission between 6 to 8% for each sale
• A $50 product will yield you a commission from $3 to $4
• To make $1000 a month from your site you need to sell ten $50 products a day or only five $100 products a day
• Do not build a site selling only $1000 products – sales volume most likely will be too low
Rule#2: You should be comfortable working in the niche for at least 3 to 4 months.
• You do not have to be an expert
• You do not have to love the niche
• You can always research and learn about any niche you want
Rule #3: The niche should be big enough to support a 50 to 100 page site
• Bigger, authority sites with a lot of well written content are doing well in Google
• Niche should not be too small – like “cheap watches under $15”. But “wrist watches” would make a good intial choice.
Seasonality
Seasonality is something you should never overlook. Most beginners miss on a lot of MONEY disregarding seasonality. Demand for many products varies from month to month. Demand peaks for a month or two and then goes flat. You do not want to invest several months into building a site only to find the products sell only during 2 to 3 months of the year.
Examples of a non-seasonal niche(the ones we are after)
- Designer clothes, computer accesoaries, high end cosmetics, electronics
Examples of seasonal niches(AVOID as a beginner):
- Prom dresses, swimwear, Halloween costumes, scarves, coats, etc.
Methods to find niches for amazon affilliate sites
- Google Adwords Keyword Planner
- Amazon.com
- Ebay.com, Alibaba.com
- Magazines
- Flippa.com
- Hobies and interests
- Trendnig commercials
Use all of the above to look for trends and find an idea(product) which you believe in. I wish I could give you a niche with the snap of my fingers but in order for you to make a lot of $$$ and do so LONG TERM you have to find your GEM yourself. Please let me know about your ideas in the comments and FOLLOW ME for being around for the next chapters, it would be exciting!

Nice info. 🙃
Thank you, make sure to stick around. I scipped through your content and quite like your pictures so I followed you. Greetings!
Thanks for the tips. As an Amazon Affiliate, i'm always looking for ways to improve.
I have a TON of things to say, but unfortunately I will pause the series for now. It seems that i get very little traffic to my posts as a new user and it is not really worth my time for now. When I get a bunch more followers be sure to stick around as I would post around 20 chapters of the series. Thank you for reading my content, I highly appreciate it! I followed you!
Yeah it's a real chicken and egg situation. I'd say 500 real followers at least before writing anything serious . Will keep a lookout!
Yep, I will try to reach that soon by writing quality comments on other articles. As far as I understood that is the correct way to grow. I followed you!
done likewise :)
how do you get cheap or free traffic to your website niche ?
Hello @newmarket65. Thank you for reading my article. Cheap traffic means paid traffic -> cheap paid traffic does not convert, this is why its cheap. Quality paid traffic we can not afford as our comission is too low, we need to sell the actual product to be able to afford that. My course teaches the last option: We will not pay for traffic but we will do our best to rank for very good and specific buyer keywords as you can read in my next article. This way we will not actually spend cash on traffic but google will deliver us actual organic searches. The best thing about them other than they are free is that they actually convert, cause people are looking to buy. That method takes longer, it may take you months before you actually start making real cash but it is free and it is long term sustainable, like an avalanche. If you have other questions ask!
yeah sounds good i have tried it before the issue with amazon affiliates is that for if you have a buyer from usa and they buy but you are a uk amazon affiliate with the uk link and they link and you dont get payed. It need to amazon.com affiliate link. how do you get round this ?
I would suggest marketing on the USA version. UK amazon also has restrictions on comissions as far as I know, I have never worked with amazon.co.uk so i can not answer precisely.
i got very frustatrated with them you cant direct link or even have picture of amazon product or its banned from the program
You should not be frustrated but educate yourself better. Thats right, you are forbidden to advertise links directly. This is why you should have a lending page which you promote, it can be like my sites which I teach how to create or it can be very simple with 1 product, but it should go through your landing page.
yeah i would like to learn do you teach ?
do you a course are you on you tube?

nice article, but i would say you could make a page for items in a 50 - 300$ range but i agree with u that it would make no sense to start a page with 1k product. ... not as a beginner.
