Taking the big leap was never too hard for me. Recently I quit the comfort of my well-paying job to create the life that I always wanted for myself. With no plan, no two-week noticed I just jumped the gun and it was for a good reason in my opinion. Everyone’s always telling me to leave the doors open for the chance that you might go back to work or get a degree to have a backup plan just in case things go south. I understand the concept of a backup plan but in my case, I believe the only back up plan that will benefit me is the one that supports my original plan.

Work for skill and not money. I believe the fear of being broke and not having money distorts the true value of us living our life. Working for a skill you love is equivalent to focusing on the root of a tree rather than the leaf that it produces. Without the root the leaf wouldn’t be possible.

If we look at two basketball players, one loves basketball and spends every waking second of his life devoted on defining his skill to become a player. He plays basketball video games watches NBA games studies basketball plays and practices like this is his future. Verses the second basketball player that does the same thing but has a backup plan to be a sports doctor. He loves basketball but he has a slight disbelief that he can make this his future. He listens to his parents about getting a college education and having a comfortable job. He spends times honing his skills but he also reads anatomy books and entertains his backup plan slightly. Who do you think is going to become the better basketball player? The answer is simple but for some reason people do not live their life like that.

I rather throw myself in the situation so that I am pressured to make this work. I will spend every waking second attempting to create an income because that’s the only way I see my future. I am not comfortable with the thought of a backup plan, nothing else interest me than being my own boss. Even if I fail it’s not the end of the world, I can always get a job and go back to the comfort of a steady income. But for me failure can’t be an option because working as an employee has never been in the vision.

I believe that the skills I acquire from proving myself through this struggle will shape my life for what I’ve always wanted. This can be transferred to any aspect of life, if you absolutely know what you want I say jump. Cause even if you were wrong you will develop a skill that is rare among humans and that I the skill of following your heart. I dare you to live like you’re going to die tomorrow because tomorrow is never promised to any of us.

That's an interesting take on life! I really like your basketball player metaphor, especially considering I do this. I need to work on refining only one skill/trait/etc. I just shot you a follow, so feel free to follow back!

Thanks ! I hope everything works out for you and I will follow back
