I think that video from the 1970s of the Russian KGB defector is incredibly powerful, when you look at their long term strategy and how daily life in the USA has turned out in 2019.

AND it looks like the plans of the KGB (and the book 1984) is eerily similar to the doom, gloom & tyranny described in the Book of Revelation - so this could merely be a self-projection coming to fruition for the American public + other people predicting hardship in the future.
It is certainly possible. If you are to watch any news media in the USA, it has the effect of turning any sane person into a prepper.
