The US Mint still strikes Proof Silver, John F Kennedy, Half Dollars.
Thanks for keeping us updated and educated, @maneco64. Silver US Five-Cents, "Nickels," with large P, D or S, ID, can turn up in change, occasionally. I found this one several years, ago. Or, a Local Coin Shop, for about $1.50 (USD) each. Many are easy to spot, as they stand out, with their blackish tone.

I have a handful of these. I actually bought some years back. Wasn’t really worth it buying rolls but I love having a few of these. I have one that’s in really sweet condition.
Thanks for looking, Gene Everett-@geneeverett. The price of Silver, and its premiums, have gotten so high, that many, of these beauties go for the same price, of junk Silver. Believe it or not, the neighborhood Local Coin Shop, breaks open US Mint, Silver Proof Sets, sells the Silver at junk/melt (+10%) and gives the Proof Cents/Pennies & Nickels as change. The Proof Sets take up too much space. Unreal! I've had to pass on rolls of 90%, Proof, Silver dimes, when short on cash. But, did get a few.
