Thanks, Clive Thompson and Maneco64. I have heard that there are more than one 1933 Gold Double Eagles, out there. Several, from one source, may have turned up at a well-known, Coin grading authenticator, who notified the government. I think the government gave up and let the original Family members, of a US MINT employee, who may have exchanged his earlier dated Gold eagles, for the 33s. Not stealing them. The Family may have sent in a dozen or more at one time. Or it could be another fish story.
