Theirs this podcast called "gnostic media" the guys on there make some pretty interesting connections between the CIA and the emergence of the counter culture. They even claim the grateful dead were connected to the CIA, and they make some interesting points if their teue. I haven't gone and checked their sources though. The only reason I watched was because James Corbett has him on his show and I have a lot of respect for james. I remain septic al though. Idk just thought it might intrigue you.

I think the idea is that a lot of the psych and folk bands of that era all came out of the same valley and they all had parents in military and there was a studio up there somewhere that they all recorded and shot videos in and it was also where political propaganda was shot, i think. Jan Irvin is a bit of a bookwork but still makes some cool connections.
There ya go! It's frustrating to believe because my entire life has revolved around music and counter culture with the belief i was rebelling against the system. I need to look into it more i just listened to a couple podcasts.
Follow me back!
I have read this type of information before. Not sure if I believe it or not. I, like yourself, have a lot of respect James Corbett's work. The funny thing is, there are very few, if any, direct links that I have found from Grateful Dead to CIA.
They had a lot to say, and a lot of names to throw out there. But i didn't didn't even look at the show notes cause scarlet begonias came on.
hopefully it was a scarlet>fire!!
