Recently, a friend of a friend posted an article by Jeff Berwick on his Facebook account and it appeared in my news feed.
The person who shared TDV's post was intrigued by the concept that Canadians pay too much taxes. I was simply happy to see a Steemit post shared on Facebook and commented "STEEMIT" on his post. However as more comments started coming in, people started attacking the article and Jeff Berwick, "Very interesting. Shame it's so childishly written; I feel like the clumsiness of expression undermines his authority to make so many sweeping and inflammatory claims." said one commenter.
So I felt it was necessary to school these FB trolls and promote Steemit.
Moral of my story? If we have compelling ideas we want to share, that we think add value to people's lives, use Steemit. Profit from your ideas and forget about the facebook trolls!
Below are screen captures of the conversation, all identities have been kept confidential.
The one that stood out to me was the "I think taxes are fine and am willing to pay my share". A lifetime of state indoctrination will do that to a person.
agreed
Here's a fun thought experiment:
Why are there so few progressives on Steemit? :)
I have my theory. Whats yours ?
Immanuel Kant identified progress as being a movement away from barbarism towards civilization. Contemporary American Progressives lived mainly in the cities, were college educated, and believed that government could be a tool for change. Maybe this viewpoint is changing?
