In a speech at Mt. Whitney School in California, Bill Gates reminded us that school does not do everything and that there are certain things that can not be learned when they are essential To succeed in professional life.
Bill Gates is an autodidact who quickly dropped out of school to devote himself entirely to his projects. A stroke of genius since he later became the richest man in the world. In a speech at Mt. Whitney School in California, Bill Gates gave his ten tips for success in life, advice that the school does not always lavish as it is essential to build a bright future.
Life is unfair and we will have to deal with it
The world mocks your own love. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you congratulate yourself
You will NOT earn $ 60,000 per year upon leaving the school. You will not be vice president from the start, with smartphone and car company. You will have to earn and earn your privileges
Do you find your teacher too harsh? It's nothing beside what your boss will be
Working in a chip shop is not shameful, on the contrary. At the time of your grandparents it was called an opportunity
When you make mistakes, it's not your parents' fault. It is useless to whine and much more constructive to question
Your parents were definitely less annoying before your birth, they became like that by paying your bills and hearing you
repeating all day long how cool you are. So, before saving the tropical forests of your parents' generation, start by cleaning your room!Your school may have abandoned the idea of losers and winners, but this is not the case in life. If your school no longer puts negative notes and leaves you enough time to find the right answers, it is not representative of what is going on in REAL life.
Life is not divided into semesters. Summer is not a period of rest. And very few employers are willing to help you to assume you. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
Television is not real life. In real life, people take their coffee to go and go to work
And the bonus tip:
- Be cool with geeks. There's a good chance your future boss will be one.

Bill Gates is cool, and I think Microsoft has come a long way. Now their products are very cool with very nice interfaces.
B. Gates tips: Be born into a rich family that supports your interests & talents. (that was his 'big break)
Yes you are right... To be able to leave school to work on what you really like, without having to do a 9 to 5 at Mc'Donlad, is some kind of damn good privilege. :/

That's almost exactly what I thought when reading this. I currently do read the book written by TenX Co-Founder Julian Hosp, being available in both German and English. Julian is the offspring of a middle class family and had earned enough to never have to work again before he was 30. The stories in his book are motivating and it is evident how big a role his mother played in being disciplined and thus successful. The statements above read like their origin was a cheap daily calendar of wanna-be wisdom.
Great works, I wish you success
Thank you! :)
