Yep! Add zero value to the platform and most people end up falling for the perceived notion that a celebrity will promote steem more than the smaller users and bring in the extra numbers. Do we have any metrics to prove that these celebs are actually bringing in great number of people? Cheerleading only goes so far when there's no metrics to back up claims I guess... Community needs to start being more realistic instead of being jingoistic sometimes.

Exactly. I've been doing that for past two weeks and its working out great! I can easily quantify the users I got on board here. Most of these guys wouldnt do a dime of a work if it didnt make them 1000s which they get for doing nothing other than posting a 100 word intro most of the time. :) Let them make their money, we shall continue our efforts. :)
