Good morning readers! We have talked about blockchain games before, when they were mostly in infancy, when they evolved and sweeped all over the cryptoworld and yet, we've still to see the promised revolution in cryptogaming.
Sure, we have games that make use of the blockchain nicely - payments, inventory, scores - you name it. But most of the blockchained part of the games still suffers for multiple of unsolved problems, amongst which the most notable are the confirmation delays, high and fluctuating fees, to move the most basic informations around.
What if all we want is a fast-paced, hi-octane action-thriller- horror 3rd person adventure and none of that card-trading new-age stuff? In comes the new generation of blockchain-integrated games. While most of the games so far touted decentralization as a flag to carry high and took pride in it, the cons associated with it never let us truly enjoy or immerse in these experiences. The newer generation games acknowledge this issue and takes a step back.
medium.com calls it the exchange model - what it essentially means is most of the game will still run on centralised servers and databases, while touching the blochchain for only limited actions.
The Laserchain game mentioned in the above link does a few more things differently. While usually the game devs create their own in-game crypto token out of thin air and print as much as one's heart desires, or utilize a third-party solution (Chimaera, for example), in this model the in-game Laser tokens can be obtained by forcefully taking them from other player or mining them ingame with their base operations, thus the price of the token is decided by only the supply and demand set in the game.
It's still early to see, whether anything spectacular will come out of this specific game, but game devs acknowledging that not everything can be decentrlaized and blockchainified, will actually set a path for better crypto- and blockchain-integrated games.

Many of you guys, who tend to move around a lot or just travel for the full pleasure of it, have probably met some inconveniences while at your destination or while even planning your trip.
Starting from planning your travel routes, booking hotels, renting vehicles and ending with daily activities, people often get overwhelmed with all the choices thrown at them. While tackling these issues, often other questions remain overlooked - for example what can you do at your travel destination, what is prohibited, what is allowed, when is something closed. Booking portals quite often fail to let users know of seasonal features and complexities, local customs, the do's and dont's.
bitcoinist.com introduces us an upcoming "blockchain-enabled ecosystem", namely smarttripplatform.io, that aims to be booking.com and a social experience mixed and matched, bringing reviews, photos, chats, blogs to the booking platform.
Any disputes that arise on the decentralized platform, will be settled by arbiters, who are chosen from the platforms most active users. And where we really leverage the blockchain - all payments, smart contracts and info is public and immutably on the blockchain.
Our goal is to create a global community of travelers. The world is becoming more and more globalized, and our solution will bring people from different countries even closer together, and make things unforgettable for them.
While travel portals are a dime a dozen, perhaps a blockchain eco-system of travellers will change the game completely.

I can’t wait for a big game to implement its own crypto
Other than the in game currency aspect of a game, what is the actual advantage or point of the blockchain here?
🤓.
Sorry somehow missed the question earlier. Well, the sweetest advantage is a cryptocurrency token itself. In-game, the Lazerchain coins are used to create a so-called zero-sum economy - a fixed market cap, and the tokens change hands as the ingame actions dictate. One can of course sell or buy his coins on an exchange too, like usually, but to me the zero-sum economy looks more interesting.
What I want from blockchain games:
